The Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team is, like other civilian Mountain Rescue Teams in the UK, a volunteer organisation with team members who give up their time freely to search for missing people or to get injured casualties in remote locations into the hands of medical professionals. Missing people could either be walkers lost on the fells, a missing child, or someone with Alzheimer's who has wandered away from home. Other searches the team have been involved with include the Morecambe Bay Cockle Pickers in 2004, and searching for passengers from the Rail Crash at Grayrigg in 2007. The Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team receive no direct Government funding. We hope that you will support this event and help raise funds to keep the Mountain Rescue service running. |
