On the Friday evening teams will be provided with an Ordnance Survey map of the area and a list of around 100 grid references, with varying points values. During the Friday evening teams will plan their route, deciding how far to walk, and which points to visit to get the highest score.

At each point, teams must find the answer to a question related to that location. It could be the manufacturer of a gate, the number of rungs on a ladder stile or the date a building was built. Whatever the question, multiple choice answers are provided. A correct answer wins the team the points allocated to that position. A wrong answer and the points are deducted.

Teams will randomly draw their start time and depart at intervals. Teams must decide and inform Challenge Control the time, between 11:00 and 14:00hrs that they plan to arrive at the midpoint check-in. Teams must provide Challenge Control with an outline route plan for both the morning and afternoon route prior to departure.

A licensed bar will be available on both nights.
